Example of a U rated film will be (Lion king) a film which is a U is actually for children aged 4+

Mild use of language, fight scenes mild and violence is very mild.


Next example is a PG film (parental guidance) (Home alone)

Bad language may be used in a PG example ''Shit''  ''Son of a bitch'' not used directly

violent will be mild and also some for of blood may be used.

adults may understand some language or jokes but children wont.


Next example is a 12+ film (Lord of the rings)

F word is appropriate for 12+ films but not used directly

Violence - moderate

Gory moments may be in the film but not for long just a few seconds.

Minor, drug use and anti social behavior.


Next example is a 15 film  (Kidult hood) (Adulthood)

Some strong language and moderate violence

Portrayals of sexual activity. Usually without strong detail

Sexual nudity is allowed without strong detail

Allow some discriminating content


Next example is an 18 film (Pulp fiction)

Themes may be offensive to adult viewers

No theme is prohibited at 18

Very strong violence

Strong language / anger

Strong bloody gore

Strong horror

Use of drugs and alcohol. But must not promote

Real sex in some circumstances

Strong and detailed nudity very explicit content
